I sit on this computer and then my neck and shoulders really hurt. After using the Fitryo TotalBar for two days, my shoulders felt so much better, really. The way I did it below, really gave me a good stretch but not so much that it hurt me.
This bar can be used in two ways. (1) Active Workouts, which involve swinging the bar and (2) Passive workouts which involve resistance and stretches.
I performed the passive workouts because the other were too strenuous for me but are great for the young an hip. The resistance workouts i performed are great for those of us who are in our happy golden years!! You can check out www.fitryo.com to see the active workouts. I can swing the total bar, but these kids can really swing it!!
You can also follow Fitryo TotalBar on Twitter for some inspiration
How I did my workout
I always start out with the bar in front of me...
Lifting the bar over my head I placed it on the back of my neck
Finding the spot that is comfortable for me, I stretched both hands out to the end of the bar so I could feel the stretch in my upper back, arms and shoulders
Now I just lightly flapped my arms up and down like I am trying to fly. (without putting a lot of weight on the bar) This is a low to no impact exercise that won't hurt my old bones.
Really, this looks like it would do nothing for my shoulders but It really gives me a good stretch. I use to hang on things, like my door frames. But I could never get the stretch this workout gave me.

Oh this looks amazing! Were you able to buy it locally or did you have to order it?
I've never heard of the Fitryo bar, but it sounds really neat! I always feel like I need a good stretch for my stressed neck and shoulders!
p.s. Hope you had a happy weekend!
Wow! That is so cool! I got to find me one. By the way you look great!
That's great! I will have to try that stretch with mine :-)
This looks like it would make your neck and shoulders feel so good after using.
I have a bar that's kinda similar but padded. I'll have to do some stretching with it!
That does look like fun!
Fernando said he's sending me some vitamins. Thanks! They will be reviewed on my blog Finding Me Again.
I'm excited because I put on a pair of pants today that were tight a month ago, but not now!
After I got done breastfeeding Isaak I broke my foot and packed on too many pounds.
I'm glad to be more active and watching what I eat helps to.
Thanks for the story about the Fitryo. I don't have the same problem as you, but it might help me.
I think this would be really great for my husband.
Thanks for sharing about it.
This looks very impressive! Thanks for the excellent review and information. I wish I could manage one for my shoulders...
My neck hurts too...exercise does help it, greatly
I feel you about your neck and shoulders hurting from sitting on the computer...mine hurts as we speak. This looks like a great exercise.
Great review. Sounds like it would really stretch the neck and shoulder muscles nicely.
My neck and shoulders don't hurt but I just found out where we are going on vacation this year and I need to do some toning and firming before we leave!!! I've had a ruff winter with my back so I've not been active as much, it actually happens every winter. I give in to the pain and lay around a lot, so naturally I have to work at getting fit to keep my weight down. This would be fantastic.
This is the first time I have heard of this bar too...very cool and you are a super model in these pics girl!!
Can you tell if it tones as well as the website says it does?
That looks like a great exercise ... I'll have to go check it out! Thanks!
I'm always amazed at these products that look so simple but really work! Thanx for hunting them down and sharing!!
Have a great day!!
Many of your posts have been very helpful and for neck problems that gadget would be worth a try.
Had shoulder impingement problems and fixed it with therapy rubber band attached to a closed door.
Thank You.
Your home looks absolutely beautiful and you look great! I read the other day about neckaches from texting too much but this neckaches and shoulderaches can come from reading too. Due to the head always in a bent form. At least that's the position of my head when I read. Rolling your shoulders front and back about ten times each and doing neck rolls can help relieve disconfort too. Cheers!!
