First off, I want to say how good it is to be home. "Be it ever so humble, there's no place like home." Don't get me wrong, I love to travel but I also miss home when I am away for very long.
Now to get to the question... Did I stay CANDIDA FREE during my cruise? Yes And No!! I know that is not a very good answer but I will explain.
When we got to San Juan, my sister and I were STARVING!! It was late and since I don't eat late, I just went to bed. When we woke up, we went down to breakfast and of course, there was nothing there that we should eat.... except an apple. I had brought some organic oatmeal so my sister and I had an apple and organic oatmeal. Not bad....I was doing GREAT!!! The TruFlora probiotic was working....
Time to sight see.... then of course we are starving again and in the middle of Old San Juan. We had a heck of a time finding vegetables and other food we wanted to and should eat. I found a little open bar that sold fruit smoothies. They also had beer there for our husbands.....
On the counter I spied fresh mangos for $2 each. The owner told me they were from his Fathers mango trees and were the best mangos around.......
Oh my gosh!!! These mangos were wonderful..... so good that I bought more for later.
I know what you are thinking..... I am eating way to much sugar and you are right!! but I had to eat something. I was starving. Plus I am taking the high potency probiotic to help ward off the candida. I know it was working because before I started taking TruFlora probiotic, I couldn't eat a lot of fruit at one time.
So a couple of days later, we get on the cruise ship. On the pool deck, they have a huge buffet laid out. My sister and I could only find leaf salad, vegetables cooked and then buttererd, (I don't do much butter) and FRUIT..... I am eating more fruit than I should, but at this point, I am still feeling GREAT!!.
In the evening, we go to the Dining Room and I get my meals prepared special. I have got to say that they did a wonderful job preparing meals for my sisters and I.
Since they did not serve lunch in the dining room, they had a buffet on the 10th floor, plus there was a HEALTH BUFFET.... Let me tell you about the health buffet. They had organic lettuce which was great..... but their other foods were all prepared in some way that I should not eat them.
They did make desserts and fruit soups that they said contained no sugar...... One person would tell me one thing and then another would tell me another thing. One said only honey....another said they contained honey and equal..... EQUAL!!! I might as well of eaten sugar..... So,,,, anyway, I didn't do so well at the health buffet.
I was eating pineapple like there was no tomorrow...... and they had honey in so many things.... They really needed more vegetables on their buffet. Vegetables that they didn't add oils or butters to.
Well after about a week, I started having some problems. I was getting a yeasty taste in my mouth. A tell tale sign that the candida is growing. So, I started taking 2 TruFlora every day instead of just once. That helped a lot, in fact, after a few hours of taking the TruFlora the yeasty taste would go away.
One thing I did notice, TruFlora seems to help with taking the burning tongue away.... I am still working on my tongue and will be doing a post on it when I know for sure what is working.
I think if I would of been doing the TruFlora, plus the Theralac... I would not have had the yeast taste in my mouth at all. Thats the only problem I had and it didn't last long, especially when I doubled up on the probiotic. The probiotic seemed to help counter act all the sugar from the fruits I was dumping into my body.
If I hadn't been using the TruFlora Probiotic, I know I would be going back on the candida diet.... but instead, I am eating just like I was before I left for the cruise.
My sister who didn't take the potent probiotic is having a rougher time of it. Her burning throat is back and she is back on the canidia diet for the most part.

Wow! I am so glad yu came pepared but what a pain in the butt. I think that they need a nutritionist to help them prepare the "health" buffet. If they are going to advertise health than they should NOT be baking with equal! OMG They are so lucky I was not there!!
Anyway, I MISSED YOU! But am so glad you had a good time! Glad you are back and now you can eat!!!
Love ya!
Tawna
That Truflora was a life-savor for you. You are so wise in knowing your own body so well. Most people can't do that. Other than that little flare-up, it sounds like you had a perfect time.
I meant I THOUGHT it might be a blood clot at first because it pained so bad but then Ken mentioned the veins and now, I think it was a healing crises with the veins. They feel so much better. I had forgotten about the veins cause I can't see on the back of my knees very well. Ha.
Manzanita
Sounds like you had a good time. Fresh mangos are very tempting. I get it :0)
I'm glad you had such a good time! It's hard to keep on a good diet when you're away and can't cook your own foods.
Thanks for stopping by Emma's Lunch. I'm a new follower :)
Wop ive never heard of a health buffet before but that's super neat! I think i need to eat at one of those every day! :)
