Monkey Balls ~ Keep Mice And Spiders Away Naturally

Candida has caused me many problems.  Including problems to pestisides.... which I shouldn't use anyway, even if I never had candida.

I have pretty much solved the problem of mice and spiders by using MONKEY BALLS, sometime known as hedgeapples, hedge balls, horse apples, green brains, monkey balls, or a mock orange.

Do Hedgeapples Really Work???

Last year my Husband and I were driving in Amish country. On the road was this big ball of ugly something. It is about the size of an apple but it looked diseased.

We did some research and found out it was called a Hedgeapple from the Osage Orange Tree. Old timers use these to keep spiders and mice away.

The fruit is NOT edible but it is not really posionus. Cattle sometimes eat hedgeapple, if they don't chew them up well, the hedgeapple will choke them. The seeds of the hedgeapple are edible but have to be peeled (like you would a sunflower seed) first. Squirrels love these seeds.

HOW TO KEEP MICE AND SPIDERS AWAY

Place hedgeapple around the outside of your house ( I also put some in my basement. These are only good for a few months and then you have to throw them away)

You can cut the hedgeapple into sections and place outside, around the house or inside in the basement.

This is also a nice site that tells you a lot about the hedgeapple. Hedgeapple.com , they do sell hedgeapples, but they give a lot if imformation about them.

I think the hedgeapple worked for us, we only had one mouse get into our basement last winter. The year before, we killed at least a dozen. Thank goodness they don't get upstairs or I would be moving out.

So, tell me. Have you tried Hedgeapples? Did they work for you? I would be very interested in hearing you experience with them.

I have never even heard of this, but I do have a spider problem out in the boonies where I live. Plus a mouse problem in the shop and shed behind my house.

Where do you get them?

I've never seen these. I could use some for spiders. Our old house is full of them!

This sounds great! I haven't got mice, but we do get spiders.

We love hedgeballs! They sell them at our Farmer's Market, but we can find them on our farm so they are scattered around our basement to keep spiders away and I really do think they work! Well and I haven't seen a mouse. Knock on wood!!!
