Have Any Of You Tried Oil Pulling???

I tried oil pulling a couple of years ago....that was back when I thought I had acid reflux.  It didn't go over so well with me then, but now that I have my candida under control, I decided to do it again.

I know some of you are wondering....WHAT THE HECK IS OIL PULLING?  Well, Oil Pulling is the age-old art of putting oil in your mouth to draw out the toxins in the body.    When you draw out the toxins, it helps you to heal your candida.

I don't know if it is drawing toxins out of my body but my teeth feel so much cleaner and never get that build up feeling.  My gums even feel so much better than they have been.
I will tell you how to oil pull at the end of this post.

I Started  Oil Pulling on June 6, 2010.  I only use maybe a half  of a tablespoon full of oil.  I use cold pressed organic olive oil.  You can use other oils but they really should be organic and cold pressed.

Now, I am not sure of all the health benefits of oil pulling but here are some of them....and I am not sure I believe it can do all it is touted to do...but .....  I do think it helps to clean the mouth and keep candida from growing.

Health Benefits
1. Strengthens Teeth/gums
2. Prevents tooth decay
3. Prevents Decreases/Malodor
4. Repairs loose teeth
5. REVERSES Gingivitis
It can also help with
Sinus Problems
Constipation
Bronchitis
Menopause
Cancer
Chronic Diseases
How To Oil Pull

The first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, take about a tablespoon of oil into your mouth and swish back and forth, side to side for 15-20 minutes (Try not to swallow the oil).   Rinse your mouth and brush your teeth.  Thats It!!!

If any of you do this....Please let me know if it  has helped you or not.
I really enjoy the clean feeling that my teeth have.

Update... Sometimes I Use Coconut Oil instead of Olive Oil

do you know why it has to be on an empty stomach? I am interested in trying this but not sure if I have that much time in the mornings. Evenings would be good for me but might not work? Keep us updated on how you feel as you go.

I don't know why it said to do the oil pulling on an empty stomach but it also said if you can't, just choose a time of day that is comfortable for you and do it.

Mornings are really hard for me too, I think I will try it before I go to bed.

Craziness. This just sounds so crazy... just because I wonder how it was discovered! How silly, when you think about it! But, I have no doubt that it works, if you say it does, Terry! Sounds fascinating!

What kind of oil are you suppose to use?

Organic Sesame or Sunflower oil is the best. I have been using whatever organic cold pressed oils I have.

I notice that my teeth are not as sensitive as before and my gums seem much healthier.

I have heard that coconut oil is really good for this. It has the benefit of being antimicrobial. I wouldn't use my Tropical Traditions Gold Label oil that I recently won, though. ;)

outsiderein,
It is funny you should mention that. I did it with coconut oil for the first time this morning. I think I like the coconut oil the best.
