You Can Eat Yogurt And Fight Candida ~ Greek Gods Yogurt Has 5 Live Active Cultures, Including Probiotics

I just want to say,  you may not want to do yogurt until later in the candida diet....  Some can do yogurt with no problems.  I did not do yogurt until I was able to eat fruits.

With Candida, You should try to avoid all dairy products, especially  when you are cleansing yourself of candida.  Do not eat or drink Buttermilk, Soymilk (sweetened), no cheeses, Cottage cheese, Kefir, Milk, Sour cream or  sweetened yogurt.
You CAN eat Plain Yogurt with live yogurt cultures.  Live yogurt cultures (or probiotics) help your gut to repopulate itself with good bacteria.   Greek Gods Yogurt has 5 live cultures, including probiotics.

I did not start eating yogurt until I was a couple of months into my Candida Cleanse Diet.    After eating a yogurt, I felt so much better, almost right away.  Probably because I was getting something into my stomach besides vegetables.  I got so sick of vegetables.

Now, to get to the VERY BEST YOGURT  I have ever tried,. "" Greek Gods Plain Yogurt ""  This is so smooth and creamy, more so than any brand I have tried yet.    Once you eat Greek Gods Yogurt you will be hooked.   I make moaning sounds when I eat it.....it is so good!!!

Sometimes, I eat my yogurt plain and other times, I add carob and stevia.  So good, It tastes like ice cream.

My only problem with Greek Gods Yogurt is...... I have to drive to Erie, Pennsylvania to buy it 1 1/2 hours from where I live.   In fact..... I am going to make the drive tomorrow to stock up on it.  I just can't do without this stuff.

If you ever get the chance to try Greek Gods Yogurt, DO NOT PASS IT UP.   Check out the Greek Gods Web Site and see if it is in your area.  If  not, Contact Steve  and ask him to send you a product request form to take to your local grocery store.  He might just send you a little suprise.  Be sure to tell him I told you about Greek Gods Yogurt .

I am tryingi to talk our Giant Eagle into stocking Greek Gods Yogurt, that way I don't have to drive clear to Erie everytime I need my yogurt.   They assured me they are working on it and will do everything they can to get it in.   If I do get them to stock it, I am hitting Steve up for some more coupons for money off.

Below is my Cabbage Slaw made with Greek Gods Yogurt

1 ½ lb green cabbage, quartered, cored and shredded
3 tablespoon fresh squeezed lemon juice
2/3 cup Greek Gods Plain Yogurt
1 small onion grated (optional)
2 medium carrot grated
¼ teaspoon salt or to taste
In a large mixing bowl, toss the cabbage with the lemon juice and salt. Grate the carrots and optional onion directly into the bowl. Add the Greek Gods Plain Yogurt and toss well.

I have not tried Greek Gods Yogurts yet but I am going to be looking for them.
By the way, thanks for the recipe, I have been looking for a dressing using yogurt.

I have tried Greek Gods Greek Yogurt!! I was hooked for awhile too. Good stuff. Looks like an amazing recipe! I want to make it. Thanks, Terry!

Do you get it at Whole Foods? That's where I find it.

I looked into it and it still has sugar in it so I didn't dare try it. I have not been able to find a sugar/sweetner free yogurt yet.

Stacie,
You are right...there are sugars, but they are milk sugars and don't seem to bother me.

My problem is.....it is soooo good that I want to eat all of it at once.

If you find it hard to get greek yogurt, just buy a good plain yogurt and strain it for a few hours.
Here is how I do it: Put some paper towels on a strainer, place yogurt there and put a deep bowl under to catch the dripping whey. Put it on the fridge and let it drip for about 4 hours. Then, you will have a very thick and creamy yogurt!

Anonymous,
I can get the greek yogurt but not the Greek Gods brand. I have never tasted any yogurt that tastes as good as Greek Gods.

I am going to give your suggestion a try and see how it turns out. Thanks!! Terry

Hi All,

First time here. Have been trying to find info on re-balancing my GI tract with good flora. Last year I was diagnosed with a very bad case of H. Pylori. Still fighting it as things were going fine, don't know what I did, but seems either I reinfected myself or I lagged and it grew stronger.

Nevertheless I'm aware of the benefits of yogurt, but would like info on how much one has to digest after completing an intensive antibiotic regimen (14 days of triple antibiotic therapy). Treatment was finished last Fall, but this year some symptoms returned. I have a "healthy" diet, but am almost sure I'm allergic to wheat as I often go into hypoglycemic shock after ingesting sandwiches, toast, meals ...you know, the world seems to be one big sugar bowl when everything from pasta to cereal makes you want to lie down and zone out. That's what happens with me. My stomach balloons and I might pass in and out for a few days (normally with much constipation). Finally I'll figure it out and have a bm. Chugging the yogurt (Greek God is a favorite, but there's a few others I enjoy too), haven't done a full probiotic therapy yet. Next on my list.

Still troubled by food issues and think I probably have systemic candida if the H. Py. is decimated. Won't know for sure til I see the GI doc in coupla weeks (mid April). Personally, after still bloating up and often while eating, but not with a boisterous appetite or an appetite at all most times, I think I need to change my diet to lessen the sugar load. Don't eat white sugar, but consume local honey and Agave in moderation. Am on prenatal, magnesium, and ferrous sulfate due to B-Vitamin deficiency and Anemia due to the H. Py. infection. No soda, little juice, low fruits. Still, my stomach swells (not as bad as when the H. Pylori was eating me up), but most things I consume cause noticeable and lasting discomfort.

Therefore, I know what I'm consuming is turning to sugar as prior to all of this I had a vegetable intensive, but high carb diet of pastas, low protein and green and yellow vegetables. Just need to rebuild my system. Some things such as the edema in my leg is all but gone; weight is holding (I lost 30 lbs after the triple antibiotic therapy from cleansing holistically removing "die off" from my system), cellulite pockets in my thighs and stomach have mostly disappeared, etc. Still, I need COMPLETE health and have hit a wall of sorts...not sure what to give up first, second, third at this "turning point" stage.

Hope this isn't too much info. As that seems the problem with most of this society we live in - we are information accessible with a low tolerance for absorption...much like our diets (lol). As for me, I'm not out of the woods yet (H. Pylori leads to stomach/gastric cancer which most people and doctors don't recognize before it's untreatable), though I feel there's a clearing ahead. I pray for health these days more than anything else.

Nicole,
First, I found out I could not eat yogurt on a regular basis. Once in a long while is okay.

Two... honey is out for me. Way to much sugar content. I haven't tried it lately but really don't miss it. I do use agave.

Are you sure you don't have parasites? Your GI Doctor will probably think you are crazy if you ask him about parasites. He may not even believe in candida. Most doctors don't. That is slowly changing.

Giving up any form of cane sugar will probably help you most of all.

Fruit and fruit juices are usually out at the beginning of the candida fight.

My Doctor put me on a alkaline diet limiting the fruits. It took 3 months to even start seeing any improvement.

Also, you could be low in magnesium. Magnesium chloride is what I am taking.

My hubs and I just started drinking wheatgrass juice

Wheatgrass has over 100 vitamins and minerals.
