Not All Stevia Is Good For Your Candida

The Picture above is a packet of NOW Stevia that I had been using....that is until I found out it has inulin in it. Granted, not all the NOW stevia products contain inulin but I was told this one was the best so I bought it. It was indeed good compared to some of the others that left a bitter after taste. But still......IT HAS INULIN!!
Inulin feeds candida, although it also feeds the good bacteria, I am not willing to continue using it because it also feeds the bad bacteria.

I bought another brand of NOW Stevia and it has MALTODEXTRIN in it. What is up with all this stuff added to Stevia. Maltodextrin also feeds candida.
I have been using this Stevia Powder made from the Stevia Leaf only. It is just ground up leaves. I can tell you it does not taste as good as the other but until I find another brand of Stevia that I like, I will stick with this.

Look how green this is, and it is grainy and gritty. I know it is much better for me than the other Stevia I was using but this stuff takes some getting used to.
Be sure to look at all the ingredients on your Stevia......some of the companies sneak a lot of different things into their products.

Here is one of the sites I found telling about inulin Natural News

Here is a site about Maltodextin

Hey Terry,
Can you point us in the direction where you found this information?
This is puzzling to me, because there are other sweeteners that are recommended on the candida diet that I follow that are inulin structure(scientific)based, like chicory root and yacon syrup.

Here is one of the many articles I found.

Terry, you were asking me which Stevia I get. I was incorrect in saying Whole Foods brand. I use NOW Stevia Glycerite:

I don't use NOW stevia, but I can tell you that inulin fiber is very healthy for the body. It is a digestive aid that feeds the good bacteria, which in turn, enhances the immune system. I don't think it feeds the bad bacteria at all. Again, it's good for the body.

yodasmith,
I did read inulin was good for the body but I also read it feeds the candida. Here is one of the articles I read.

Right now, I am trying to feed the candida as little as possible. As soon as I get further along in my canidia cleanse, I will probably be able to use inulin with no problems.

Thank you so much for your comment, I always like to get another persons view. Terry

Not only do I have candida issue but I have inulin food allergy. I have been using NuNaturals Vanilla Stevia extract in my coffee. I have maybe 2 cups in the morning, I see no inulin etc. on label.

NuNaturals is the best stevia out there! Try their pure white stevia extract powder, or their alcohol-free liquid extracts. They are inulin-free and so much better than anything else I've tried.

I use Tader Joe Organic 100% pure Stevia. They offer 2 different strengths. One comes in a big bottle and you use a 1/3 of a teaspoon for 1 t sugar. I use the little bottle (622 servings) which comes with it's own teeny tiny little spoon.

It doesn't taste like sugar but I've gotten to really like it. I know prefer it to sugar.

I don't buy anything unless it is 100% Stevia. You are correct though. They add a lot of things to the sweetners.

I was not aware of this. I will have to check to see which kind i have. I just started using it but it actually tastes a lot better than i had expected.
